Follow by Email
How to use it: Simply enter your email and click on submit
What it does: It sends an email of each new blog post to your inbox
When it's best: This is great for a favorite blog where you never want to miss a post. It is also great for a person who follows very few blogs. If you follow a lot of blogs this way, your inbox may become overwhelming.
How to use it: You will see an icon that looks like the orange box to the left. Click on it and select which RSS reader you want to use to read the blog. I use Google Reader, the first option on the list. You can just subscribe to the posts or the posts and comments. If you have a gmail or google account, you already have google reader, you just haven't been using it. From gmail, click on the "MORE" tab on the very top navigation bar. Select "Reader" from the drop down menu and now you are looking at your reader.
What it does: It sends all the posts and comments from the blog to feed through your Google Reader. Whenever you are logged into your Google Reader you will be able to see all the posts and/or comments from Spirit Kitten
When it's best: If you read a lot of blogs or plan on following more blogs, this consolidates all your favorite blogs in one place. You can organize them into folders based on interest/subject. You can go to your google reader at any time and flip through the most current posts of your favorite blogs. It is like a little personal library of you blogs.
Join this Site
How to use it: Under "Followers" click on the blue button that says Join this Site. Then, you pick how you want to sign in.You can choose to follow this blog publicly or privately.
What it does: If you sign in with a google account, it sends a feed of the blog posts to your blogger dashboard and your google reader.
When it's best: This is very similiar to the "Subscribing to an RSS feed" option. The main difference is if you chose to follow publicly, you are showing your support for the blog and you get to be part of a community of people who are following Spirit Kitten
Follow Through Twitter
How to use it: Click on the twitter button which will bring you to my twitter page. Then click on the "follow" button in the upper right.
What it does: Each time I post on my blog you will get a tweet with a link to the new post.
When it's best: This is great for a person who uses Twitter regularly or who would like to start using it to follow friends, companies, and other blogs.
Follow through Networked Blogs (a Facebook Application)
How to use it: In the Networked Blog box, click on the "follow this blog" button
What it does: Each time I post on my blog, it will feed through your Networked Blog app in Facebook. When on Facebook, you will have to click on NetworkedBlogs under apps and then you will see posts from all the blogs you follow including Spirit Kitten
When it's best: If you are an avid Facebooker who likes everything in one place, this is a great option.
